Edwards (SIGA-MD) Signature pir motion detector

The Edwards SIGA-MD is a Signature-series passive infrared (PIR) motion detector. The device reports motion events back through the Signature SLC loop.

First, the PIR sensor watches a protected area for infrared change from a moving source. Then, the device reports activation to the Signature panel as an addressable input. As a result, the panel can trigger doors, dampers, HVAC, or other supervised functions based on motion.

The SIGA-MD is a motion input device. Therefore, its primary role is on combined fire/security or fire/integration installations rather than direct smoke or heat detection.

This device detects motion, not smoke or heat. Therefore, do not specify it as a replacement for a smoke or heat detector. Confirm the host panel is on the Signature SLC platform before ordering.
