The Hochiki HSC-4R is a 6-inch conventional 4-wire detector base with relay output. It runs on 24 VDC and supports 4-wire conventional fire alarm circuits.
First, the base separates detector power from the initiating circuit. Then on alarm, the relay places a direct short across the initiating loop. As a result, the panel sees the device activation through standard 4-wire supervision.
How the Hochiki HSC-4R Operates
The HSC-4R is current-limited and uses one Form “C” auxiliary relay. Specifically, contact ratings are 2 A at 30 VDC or 1 A at 120 VAC. Also, the relay is shown with power off in the wiring diagram.
In addition, the 4-wire arrangement requires a listed end-of-line relay (Hochiki HA-EOLR-24) on the power supply pair. Therefore, the panel can supervise loss-of-power conditions in addition to alarm.

Also, the HSC-4R works with Hochiki conventional models SOC-24V, SOC-24VN, SLR-24H, SLR-24V, SLV-24, SLV-24N, SLV-24V, SLR-835, SLR-835H, and DCD-135/190. Furthermore, it is approved for use with Hochiki’s previous conventional model DFE 135/190.
