The Secutron DUCT-ST5 is a 5-foot sampling tube for the MIX-4010-DUCT photoelectric duct smoke detector. It samples air across HVAC ducts from 2 to 5 feet wide.
First, the tube inserts through the duct wall into the airflow. Then sampling holes along its length draw air into the detector housing. Therefore, the detector sees a representative cross-section of the duct, not a single point.
In addition, the MIX-4010-DUCT housing uses a venturi effect on its sample and exhaust tubes. As a result, the system works at very low duct air velocities. Furthermore, this single-pipe design supports correct sampling inflow and outflow.

Notes Before Ordering
The DUCT-ST5 is the 5-ft length in the MIX-4010-DUCT tube family. However, other lengths exist for wider ducts. Therefore, measure the duct width before ordering and match the tube length to the duct. In addition, the sampling tube ships separately from the detector housing — order both for a complete installation.
