The STI STI-9754 is a wall-mount wire guard for fire alarm horn, strobe, and speaker appliances. First, it shields the notification device from vandalism and accidental damage. In addition, the open wire pattern allows full audible and visible alarm output. Therefore, alarm performance is preserved.
STI STI-9754 construction
First, the cage is built from 9-gauge steel wire. Then, the wire is coated with corrosion-resistant white polyester. Specifically, the unit measures 9.2 in. H x 8.4 in. W x 3.5 in. D. As a result, it fits over the larger wall-mount notification appliance footprints.
Compatible devices and installation
First, the guard is sized for Edwards GC Series and Kidde EGC Series horn, strobe, and speaker appliances. In addition, mounting screws and anchors ship with the unit. Then, installation is straightforward over the existing appliance. Furthermore, the cage removes simply for service or replacement. As a result, ongoing maintenance is not impeded.
This wire guard is intended for indoor use. STI backs the cage for three years against breakage in normal use. For the red-coated variant, see the STI-9754-R.
