EDWARDS (1B3-250) Audio Amplifier, 250 Watt, 25V/70V – c/w

The Edwards 1B3-250 is a 250-watt audio power amplifier for fire alarm voice and audio systems. It powers speaker circuits during emergency communication.

The amplifier delivers 250 watts of continuous (RMS) power. Specifically, harmonic distortion stays under 0.5% from 45 Hz to 20 kHz at the 70.7 V tap. In addition, it supports both 25 V and 70 V outputs.

Edwards 1B3-250 Performance

Frequency response runs 20 Hz to 20 kHz, within +0 and -1 dB. Also, the signal-to-noise ratio is better than -90 dB below rated output. Input sensitivity is 1 VRMS at 1 kHz, with a 75k ohm input impedance.

The unit includes circuitry for 24 VDC battery backup. Therefore audio can continue during a power loss. A rear-mounted input level control and thermal-overload LED round out the front-end controls.

Construction and Protection

The amplifier mounts in a standard 19-inch rack. It measures 5-1/4 in high, 19 in wide, and 15 in deep. In addition, electronic and thermal overload protection guard the unit. Both protection circuits are self-restoring.
