The Edwards 33-30671A is an ASD-160H aspirating smoke detector with a docking station. It actively draws air through a sampling pipe to detect smoke early. First, the low-power aspirator pulls air from the protected area. Then the detector monitors that air for products of combustion. As a result, it can warn before visible flame appears.
Edwards 33-30671A sampling design
- High-sensitivity aspirating detection for small to medium spaces.
- Supports up to 10 sampling holes along the pipe.
- Allows a maximum pipe length of 164 ft (50 m) in still air.
- Reduces to 33 ft (10 m) where airflow exceeds 3 ft per second.
Docking station advantage
All wiring and pipework connect at the docking station. Therefore, the detector can be removed or replaced without disturbing them. In addition, this design speeds service and reduces downtime. Specifically, it suits data centers, labs, atria, and concealed-detection applications.
