EDWARDS (757-1A-TW) Temporal Horn, Self-synchronized – 24 Vd

The Edwards 757-1A-TW is a 24 VDC self-synchronized temporal horn in a white housing. First, it is a horn-only notification appliance in the Edwards 757 Genesis series. Specifically, the “-T” suffix designates Temporal-Code-3 signaling and the “-W” suffix designates white finish.

Where the Edwards 757-1A-TW fits

This horn covers fire alarm audible notification in commercial buildings. Therefore, schools, offices, healthcare facilities, and retail spaces are typical sites. In addition, it suits new construction and retrofit projects where strobe coverage is already in place. As a result, designers can mix horn-only and horn/strobe appliances to optimize NAC loading.

Self-synchronization

The 757-1A-TW generates its own Temporal-Code-3 pattern on the NAC. Therefore, no external synchronization module is required for multiple horns to march in time. Also, the horn can be field-selected for self-synchronizing Temporal Code 3 or a steady-tone output. In addition, the field installer can select high or low dBA output.

Installation

First, the appliance mounts to a standard North American two-gang or 4-inch square electrical box. Then, polarized field wiring lands on the appliance terminals for synchronization.

What this appliance is not

Importantly, the 757-1A-TW is a horn-only device with no strobe element. Therefore, it does not satisfy UL 1971 visible notification coverage on its own. For combined audible/visible coverage, specify a horn/strobe such as the 757-3A-TW (30 cd) or 757-7A-TW (75 cd).
