The Edwards QSA-1-S is a surface-mount remote annunciator wallbox for the QuickStart fire alarm system. First, the cabinet holds one SL30 display module. Then it interfaces back to a host QSC, QS1, or QS4 panel over an RS-485 data riser.
Importantly, the QSA-1-S is not a control panel. Specifically, it is the enclosure plus interface assembly that lets a building install a remote LCD annunciator away from the main FACP. As a result, lobby and corridor mounting positions become possible without relocating the host panel.
Decoded part number
The “S” suffix indicates Surface mount. Alternatively, the “F” suffix on the sibling QSA-1-F denotes Flush mount with a trim ring.

What ships in the box
The QSA-1-S includes the surface-mount cabinet and the interface assembly. However, it does not include the SL30 display or the CPU. Therefore, plan the bill of materials accordingly when quoting a job.
