The Macurco GD-12 is a line-voltage combustible gas monitor and controller. Specifically, it detects methane (CH4), propane (C3H8), or hydrogen (H2). Therefore, it suits mechanical rooms, parking garages, battery rooms, and maintenance facilities.
First, the GD-12 runs on 100–240 VAC for direct mains installation. Then, it triggers fan control and alarm relays on a gas event. As a result, the unit can stand alone as a shutdown and ventilation controller.
Macurco GD-12 sensing and gas options
The detector ships configured for one of three combustible gases. However, you specify the target gas at order time. Also, the gray housing distinguishes it from the white CO-family housings in the Macurco 6-Series.
Verified specifications
- Power input: 100–240 VAC (line voltage)
- Detected gases: methane (CH4), propane (C3H8), or hydrogen (H2) — select at order
- Outputs: fan-control and alarm relays for ventilation and shutdown
- Coverage area: typically 900 sq ft per unit
- Housing: gray industrial enclosure
- Listing: ETL Listed; UL 2075 Listed
Typical installations
Parking garages and battery rooms commonly require combustible gas detection. Therefore, the GD-12 ties directly into exhaust fans and gas valves. In addition, it pairs with Macurco DVP-120 / DVP-1200 panels or with the GBC boiler controllers for multi-zone systems.
For 12–24 VAC / 12–32 VDC low-voltage installations, the GD-6 is the matching low-voltage variant in the same family.
