The Hochiki HPS-SAK CAT 30 is a single-action manual pull station for conventional fire alarm systems. It includes a glass rod and uses the CAT 30 key for reset access.
First, the housing uses solid die-cast metal in glossy red. Then a plated-steel back switch plate carries the enclosed alarm switch. As a result, the HPS-SAK delivers a tamper-resistant, code-compliant pull station for commercial buildings.
How the HPS-SAK CAT 30 Operates
The pull station works on a single-action mechanism. Specifically, one pull-down motion breaks the glass rod and trips the alarm switch. In addition, the switch carries an SPST normally-open contact rated for 10 Amps at 120 VAC.
Furthermore, every connection routes through a screw-terminal block on the back plate. Therefore, field wiring is straightforward for installers familiar with conventional initiating circuits.
Reset, Key Access, and Glass Rod
The HPS-SAK ships with the CAT 30 key included. Authorized personnel use the key to unlock the front cover for reset and testing. Also, a fresh glass rod ships in the box. As a result, the device is ready to install out of the carton.
Additionally, replacement glass rods are available separately. For longer key-pull cycles, order spare CAT 30 key sets to keep on hand.
