The Macurco HS-C is a 24 VDC horn/strobe with a clear lens for Macurco gas-detection notification. First, it pairs with the Macurco DVP-120 and DVP-120M controllers. In addition, it works with Macurco 6-Series and 12-Series detectors. Therefore, it is not a fire-alarm UL 1971 strobe.
Macurco HS-C candela options
The strobe candela is field-selectable at 15, 30, 75, or 110 cd. Then the horn delivers a high-decibel alert at low current draw. Also, the unit mounts flush or surface to a double-gang electrical box. As a result, the install drops onto standard rough-in.
Where it fits
Use the HS-C in cold storage, MRI suites, and clean rooms where a neutral lens is preferred. Specifically, deploy it where a Macurco panel must annunciate gas events with a clear-lens device. However, do not wire it onto a fire-alarm NAC. Furthermore, do not substitute it for a UL 1971 strobe on a fire system.
Color-coded family
Life Safety Consultants stocks the HS-C alongside HS-A (red) and HS-B (blue) for zone-color coordination. For example, use clear units for ambient zones and color lenses for specific gas types.
