The Farenhyt IDP-HEAT-ROR-W is an intelligent addressable heat detector from Silent Knight. Specifically, it combines a 135°F (57°C) fixed-temperature alarm with rate-of-rise sensing at 15°F per minute (8.3°C per minute).
First, the detector is plugged into a separate base and given an address via rotary decimal switches. Then the panel polls it on the SLC. As a result, the device reports point-identified alarms with both fast-rise and fixed thresholds.
Farenhyt IDP-HEAT-ROR-W Key Features
- Intelligent addressable combination heat detector — 135°F fixed + 15°F/min rate-of-rise
- FlashScan protocol with rotary decimal addressing
- 15 to 32 VDC from the SLC; 200 µA standby and 4.5 mA max alarm (at 24 VDC)
- UL detector spacing: 50 ft (15.24 m) center-to-center
- Operating range: -4°F to 100°F (-20°C to 38°C); humidity 10–93% non-condensing
- 360° visibility from two bi-color LEDs (green = normal, red = alarm)
- White housing
Where the IDP-HEAT-ROR-W Is Used
Typically, the ROR variant is the workhorse heat detector for ordinary occupancies. For example, corridors, storage rooms, and unconditioned spaces all benefit from heat detection. As a result, contractors specify it where smoke detection would generate nuisance alarms.
Furthermore, the detector is compatible with Silent Knight IFP-series intelligent fire alarm panels. Therefore, it is the right choice on IFP-2000, IFP-1000, IFP-100, and IFP-50 systems.
