KIDDE (GSA-SB) Detector Base- Standard

The Kidde GSA-SB is the standard plug-in detector base for the Signature Series intelligent loop. Specifically, it provides the mounting and wiring terminals for any Signature smoke or heat detector head. As a result, the same base supports photoelectric, ionization, heat, and multisensor detector heads on the same loop.

Furthermore, the GSA-SB carries data in, data out, and a remote LED terminal. Then, the detector head plugs into the base and reports through the loop’s signaling data circuit.

How the Kidde GSA-SB Detector Base Works

Field wiring lands on the base, not on the detector head itself. As a result, a head can be removed for cleaning without disturbing any field connections. In addition, the head is keyed to the base so installation orientation is consistent across the building.

Also, the base provides a terminal for a remote LED, such as the GSA-LED. Therefore, an alarm indicator can be installed outside a concealed space — for example, above a drop ceiling or in a sealed plenum.
