Hochiki (NS6-221) 2 wire, 6″ detector base, 24 vdc*

The Hochiki NS6-221 is a 6-inch 2-wire conventional detector base. It is electronics-free and uses an integral current-limiting resistor.

First, the NS6-221 mounts a Hochiki conventional smoke or heat detector head. Then it links the head into a 2-wire initiating circuit. As a result, the panel can supervise the device through a single pair of conductors.

Compatible Detector Heads

Also, the NS6-221 accepts Hochiki photoelectric and heat heads. Specifically, it works with SOC-24V, SOC-24VN, SLR-24V, SLR-24H, SLV-24, SLV-24N, and SLV-24V smoke detectors. In addition, it supports SLR-835 and SLR-835H photoelectric heads. Furthermore, the DCD-135/190 fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detector also mounts here.

Installation Notes

However, confirm the panel’s compatibility chart before substituting one ID-coded base for another. Therefore, the panel reads HB-4 on alarm to identify this base. Also, any LED annunciation device must be current-limited to 20 mA at 24 VDC.
