The POTTER PS-10-EX is an explosion-proof supervisory pressure switch for fire sprinkler systems in hazardous locations. It detects waterflow conditions on wet-pipe, dry, preaction, and deluge valves. In addition, the unit can serve as a low-pressure supervisory device. As a result, one device covers both waterflow alarm and supervisory functions.
POTTER PS-10-EX Hazardous Location Ratings
The PS-10-EX is rated for Class I Division 1 Groups B, C, and D atmospheres. Furthermore, it covers Class II Division 1 Groups E, F, and G dust environments. Also, the listing includes Class III Division 1. The enclosure carries IP66 and NEMA 4 / 9 ratings. Therefore, the unit suits refineries, chemical plants, grain handling, and other hazardous locations.
Specifically, the device is CENELEC, ATEX, IECEx, UL, cUL, FM, and CE Marked. The cover incorporates a tamper-resistant fastener that requires a special key.
Pressure Range and Adjustment
The two SPDT switches operate over a 4–20 PSI adjustable range. The factory setting is 6 ± 1 PSI on pressure increase. In addition, each switch adjusts independently of the other. As a result, one switch can monitor high air and the other low air on a dry system.
