Siemens FDBZ492-HR Duct Housing With Relay
The Siemens FDBZ492-HR is a two-wire addressable duct housing with a relay base. Specifically, it samples HVAC duct air for smoke and adds a programmable relay output. As a result, it can trigger functions like fan shutdown when smoke is detected.
This model is the addressable, relay-equipped member of the FDBZ492 family. Moreover, it works with the FDBZ492-RTL remote test switch. Therefore, a technician can test the housing and control the relay from a remote location.
How the Siemens FDBZ492-HR Works
The housing uses a cross-sectional sampling method. First, an inlet tube pulls a continuous air sample from the duct. Then the air flows past the addressable detector. Finally, the outlet tube returns the sample to the airstream.
Siemens FDBZ492-HR Specifications
The housing handles air velocities from 100 to 4,000 feet per minute. In addition, it operates from 32F to 120F at up to 95% non-condensing humidity. Also, the rectangular housing measures 14.38″ H x 5″ W x 2.5″ D. Furthermore, it provides three conduit wiring ports.
The FDBZ492-HR complies with NFPA 72 and NFPA 90A. Moreover, it is UL 268A Listed, ULC-S529 Listed, and FM and CSFM Approved. However, the detector and sampling tube are sold separately.
