The Edwards SIGA-UIO6 is a 6-position Universal Input/Output Motherboard for Signature Series M-style modules. Specifically, it provides six module spaces, the Signature Data Circuit (SDC) connection, and the riser power feed for plug-in modules.

First, the SIGA-UIO6 mounts in the EST cabinet or local rail. Then any combination of compatible SIGA-M-series modules plugs into the six positions. As a result, multiple Signature modules share one mounting, one SDC connection, and one riser pair.

Verified specifications (per Signature Series Component Installation Manual)

• Mounting capacity: six SIGA-M-series module positions
• Signature Data Circuit (SDC) input at TB7
• Compatible plug-in modules include SIGA-MAB, SIGA-MM1, SIGA-MCC1S, SIGA-MCR, SIGA-MIO, SIGA-MAA, SIGA-MAOT, SIGA-REL (per module list in the install manual)
• Module captive screws secure each module to the board
• The SIGA-UIO6 does not ship with TB8 through TB13 (those terminal blocks are reserved for the SIGA-UIO6R variant when individual riser-1 connections are required)
• Maximum SDC circuit capacitance: 0.1 µF
• Wire size for SDC: #18 AWG (0.75 mm²) minimum to #12 AWG (2.5 mm²) maximum
• All wiring is supervised; power-limited when sourced from a power-limited supply

Installation notes

First, install the motherboard per its installation sheet. Then verify that the SDC is connected to TB7 before plugging in any module. Next, plug each module into an available position and tighten both captive screws. Finally, wire the terminal blocks per each module’s installation sheet, write the assigned address on the module label, and apply the bar-coded serial number to the Serial Number Logbook.

Difference vs. SIGA-UIO6R

The SIGA-UIO6R adds TB8-TB13 for individual riser-1 connections per module. The SIGA-UIO6 (this product) is intended for installations where modules share a common riser-1 feed via motherboard jumpers.
