The SigCom TMH-24R is a hazardous location tone signaling amplified speaker that runs on 24 VDC. It delivers high-output tone signals in classified areas where ordinary signals cannot be installed. Specifically, SigCom rates the TMH Series for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D. It is also suitable for Class II, Division 2, Groups F and G, and Class III locations. Note that these are Division 2 ratings, not Division 1.
Each speaker is field-configurable for one of 11 tones. Options include Temporal 1k, Whoop, Slow Whoop, HiLo, 1 kHz, Beep, Ring, Fast Pulse, Yelp, Slow Yelp, and Chime. An internal DIP switch selects the tone, so no extra modules are needed. In addition, an on-board jumper adjusts audio output by ±3 dB. Maximum sound pressure is 104 dBA normal or 107 dBA boost, on axis at 10 feet.
SigCom TMH-24R Construction and Environment
The housing is rugged die-cast aluminum, sealed with powder coat paint. Dust and moisture-proof gaskets protect the internal circuitry. Also, the speaker cone and projector are spun aluminum. The TMH Series is UL Listed for indoor and outdoor use. Furthermore, it is designed for Type 3R applications. Notably, the 24 VDC models are UL listed and approved for use in fire alarm systems.
Typical installations include refineries, chemical plants, grain handling, and similar Division 2 classified areas. Therefore, always confirm your area classification against the ratings above before specifying.
