The Simplex 4098-9685 is a TrueAlarm® duct detector housing designed for surface-mount installation on HVAC supply or return air ductwork. The 4098-9685 accepts TrueAlarm addressable sensor heads and uses sampling probes to draw duct air across the detector element, providing early-warning smoke detection in HVAC air handling systems per NFPA 72 and NFPA 90A requirements.
The 4098-9685 is the standard-generation surface-mount duct housing in the TrueAlarm family, connecting to IDNet or MAPNET II addressable loops on Simplex fire alarm control panels. The updated successor to this housing is the 4098-9688.
