Fire-Lite (SLC-2LS) Adds second slc loop to ms-9600ls or ms-9600udls; increases point capacity from 318 to 636 addressable points.

The Fire-Lite SLC-2LS is the optional expander module that adds a second Signaling Line Circuit to the MS-9600LS(E) or MS-9600UDLS(E). As a result, the panel capacity doubles from 318 to 636 intelligent addressable points. Specifically, each SLC supports up to 159 detectors and 159 monitor, control, or relay modules. Therefore, large sites can keep one panel instead of adding a second FACP.

Fire-Lite SLC-2LS protocol and performance

The SLC-2LS uses the same LiteSpeed protocol as the host panel’s first loop. In addition, LiteSpeed polls 10 devices at a time on each loop. As a result, a fully loaded 636-device system can report an alarm and activate notification in under 10 seconds. Furthermore, both loops can be configured for NFPA Style 4, 6, or 7 operation.

Wiring

Each SLC runs on standard twisted, unshielded wire. Specifically, the maximum loop length is 10,000 ft (3,048 m) at 12 AWG. Also, the loop is supervised and power-limited at 24 VDC nominal. However, the panel manual’s wire table must be consulted for smaller wire gauges and Class A returns.

Compatible devices

The second loop accepts the same Fire-Lite addressable lineup as the first loop. Examples include SD355, SD355T, CP355, H355, H355R, H355HT, AD355, BEAM355, D350PL, and the MMF, MDF, CMF, CRF, BG-12LX, and I300 module families.
