The Wheelock EL4XSPSTA-ALW is a NEMA 4X / IP66 rated outdoor speaker strobe. It comes from Eaton’s Eluxa weatherproof line and uses an amber lens. Specifically, this model joins a high-fidelity speaker with an amber LED strobe. As a result, it delivers voice messages and color-coded visual alerts outdoors. The white housing carries ALERT lettering.
High-Fidelity Speaker
First, the speaker operates at 25 or 70.7 Vrms, selected in the field. In addition, it offers field-selectable taps from 1/8 watt to 2 watts at 25 V. At 70.7 V, the taps extend up to 8 watts. The frequency response spans 400 to 4000 Hz. Therefore, voice and tone signals stay clear and intelligible.
Amber Strobe and Weatherproofing
The amber strobe offers six candela settings: 15, 30, 75, 95, 150, and 177 cd. Installers set candela on site, so one model fits many layouts. Furthermore, the LED strobe flashes for 20 ms at one flash per second. The strobe runs on 16 to 33 VDC or FWR. In addition, the NEMA 4X / IP66 enclosure resists corrosion, dust, and water jets. As a result, it performs from -40°F to 150°F.
