The Potter ARC-100 is an analog/addressable releasing fire alarm control panel with 100 device addresses. First, the panel uses Potter’s proprietary digital SLC protocol with up to 10,000 feet of wiring. In addition, the SLC supports Class A, Class B, and T-tap configurations on any NEC-compliant cable.
The ARC-100 is listed for releasing of fire suppression systems. Specifically, the software supports cross zones, counting zones, and timers for clean-agent and water-based release. Furthermore, the panel can drive multiple release outputs across multiple hazards.
Potter ARC-100 power and circuits
First, the onboard 5 amp power supply feeds two NACs at 3 amps each. In addition, two I/O circuits run at 1 amp each and react nearly instantly. The I/O inputs are ideal for manual release stations and abort switches. Also, every NAC output is field-configurable for steady, strobe sync, constant power, door holder, or releasing duty.
For larger systems, the PSN-1000 series intelligent power supplies add 10 amps each. Furthermore, the ARC-100 supports up to 31 of these supplies. As a result, the system scales to 310 total amps, 188 NACs, and additional release circuits. In addition, Quadrasync lets strobes from Gentex, AMSECO, Cooper Wheelock, and System Sensor all flash together.
Programming, connectivity, and compliance
The ARC-100 ships with an Ethernet port for programming and IP communication. Also, the listed IP communicator reports to the Sur-Gard III IP receiver at a UL-listed central station. Furthermore, the panel can email alarm, supervisory, trouble, and event-history reports.
Other key features include a 4×20 LCD display, 99 software zones, and a 4,000-event history buffer. Specifically, the cabinet is 16-gauge cold-rolled steel measuring 16″W × 17″H × 3-7/8″D. As a result, the ARC-100 meets UL 864 service categories L, RS, CS, PPU, and AUX (file S735). Also, the panel carries CSFM 7165-0328:0509 and FDNY COA 6256.
