The Hochiki DH-100-P is a conventional photoelectric duct smoke detector. It monitors air handling systems for smoke entrained in the return or supply airstream.
First, the detector mounts in the duct housing with sampling tubes spanning the duct width. Then, air drawn through the tubes passes across the detector’s optical chamber. As a result, smoke in the airstream triggers the detector and signals the panel. Therefore, the DH-100-P helps initiate HVAC shutdown to slow smoke spread through the building.
Key Features
- Photoelectric smoke sensing for HVAC duct applications
- Two-wire connection to compatible conventional fire alarm panels
- Designed for use with Hochiki duct housing and sampling tubes (sold separately)
- Suited for office, healthcare, education, and industrial HVAC monitoring
Application Notes
A duct detector is not a substitute for area smoke detection. Therefore, the DH-100-P typically supplements a building’s area-detection design. Also, confirm the duct’s air velocity is within the detector’s listed range before installation. However, sampling tube length must match the duct width per the Hochiki installation sheet.
