The Edwards MN-PASM2 supervises preamp (line-level) audio signals in EST3 mass notification systems. First, it monitors the audio stream at the VoIP decoder location. Then, if the signal is lost, the module transfers its Form C relay to flag a trouble condition.
This module is locally powered from 24 VDC. Specifically, the Form C contact is rated 1 A at 30 VDC resistive. In addition, the relay restores immediately when audio returns. Also, the relay transfers immediately if module power is lost.
Edwards MN-PASM2 Key Features
- Programmable signal-loss delay of 10, 30, or 60 seconds before relay transfer
- On-board potentiometer for calibrating audio supervision sensitivity
- Two front-visible LED indicators: 24 VDC power and signal-present status
- Replacement terminal strips that allow complete supervision through 3-ASU Series audio source units
- Mounts to a standard electrical box or to MN-BRKT Series brackets inside EST3 cabinets
Verified Specifications
- Operating voltage: 16 to 32 VDC
- Standby and alarm current: 38 mA
- Audio input: 0.1 to 1.0 VRMS, 100 Hz to 4 kHz, 600 ohm input impedance
- Relay output: 1 Form C zone relay, 1 A at 30 VDC resistive
- Wire size: 12 to 18 AWG (0.75 to 2.5 mm sq)
- Compatible electrical boxes: 2-1/2 in. deep single-gang, or 4 in. square with single-gang cover
- Operating environment: indoor dry, 32 to 120 deg F, 0 to 93% RH non-condensing
Application Notes
The MN-PASM2 is part of the EST3 mass notification solutions set. As a result, its trouble relay is typically monitored by an ECS, MNS, or LSS input circuit. Furthermore, the module is NOT a Signature Series device. Therefore, it does not connect to a Signature signaling line circuit.
