The Honeywell W-SYNC is the SWIFT wireless synchronization module. Specifically, it syncs audio and visual notification between wireless and wired System Sensor devices. As a result, mixed mesh and wired installations stay in step.
The W-SYNC operates from 24V power with supplemental battery support. Therefore, the mesh stays aligned even during AC interruptions. However, synchronization is not available while running on supplemental battery only.
Honeywell W-SYNC Specifications
First, the module communicates over the SWIFT mesh network to the gateway and FACP. Power is 24 VDC. Then, supplemental backup uses four CR123A or DL123A batteries. Furthermore, a trouble signals at the panel when batteries are missing or low.
Also, the dimensions are 4.25″ H x 4.25″ W x 1.5″ D (10.8 x 10.8 x 3.8 cm). Listings cover UL 864 9th and 10th Edition. In addition, the unit is NFPA 72 compliant.
Typical Application
Contractors install the W-SYNC where wireless SWIFT notification meets wired NACs. For example, a retrofit floor may use wireless horn/strobes that must align with wired devices below. Therefore, the W-SYNC bridges the timing gap.
