The Edwards 276-K1 is the station reset key (plus tag) supplied with key-reset manual pull stations in the 276, 277, 278, and 279 series. First, the user pulls or breaks the station to initiate alarm. Then, a technician uses the 276-K1 to unlock the latch and return the station to its armed state. As a result, only authorized personnel can clear an alarm condition at the station.
Specifically, every Edwards key-reset station ships with one 276-K1. Therefore, this part is the replacement when the original is lost or copied for additional technicians. In addition, the tag identifies the key’s function on a service ring.
Edwards 276-K1 compatibility
Use the 276-K1 with any 276B, 277B, 278B, or 279B series pull station configured for key reset (typically the “1120”, “1320”, “2120”, “2320”, and similar suffixes). Furthermore, the key fits both single-action and double-action variants in the family. Also, the same key opens stations across an entire site with matching keying.
Verified specifications
- Function: station reset key with identification tag
- Catalog reference: CAT 45 station reset key
- Compatibility: Edwards 276B / 277B / 278B / 279B key-reset pull stations
- Use: required to reset a latched key-reset station after activation or test
The 276-K1 is a passive accessory, so no agency listing applies to the key itself. However, key control is part of a compliant fire alarm system per NFPA 72 site procedures. As a result, a controlled inventory of 276-K1 keys helps the AHJ confirm that station reset is restricted to qualified staff.
