The Altronix SMP5WP is an outdoor, weatherproof DC power supply and charger. Specifically, it delivers 12VDC at 4 A or 24VDC at 3.5 A to CCTV and security loads mounted outside the building envelope.
First, the SMP5WP accepts 115VAC or 230VAC mains via a worldwide-rated input. Then, it converts that input into a selectable 12VDC or 24VDC regulated output. In addition, the supply includes a built-in charger that maintains a sealed lead-acid or gel backup battery. As a result, the camera or device stays online during AC outages. Therefore, the SMP5WP suits parking-lot cameras, perimeter lighting controllers, and outdoor wireless gear.
Outdoor Enclosure Detail
Furthermore, the SMP5WP enclosure is 16-gauge steel with a fused polyester powder finish. The cabinet is NEMA 4 / 4X and IP66-11 rated for direct outdoor exposure. It also includes turn-lock latching plus integral mounting flanges. As a result, technicians wall-mount or pole-mount the unit without drilling extra brackets.

Important Application Note — Not a Fire-Alarm Power Supply

Therefore, do not install the SMP5WP as a fire-alarm power source. Alternatively, ask about Altronix’s UL 864 9th-edition product family for fire-alarm DC power needs.
