The Edwards 3X-ETH2 Ethernet Adapter Card brings 10/100 Base-T network connectivity to an EST3X life safety control panel. It plugs into one of the SFS1-CPU main board’s option slots.
First, the 3X-ETH2 provides everything the earlier 3X-ETH1 card supports. Specifically, it gives the panel an Ethernet path for remote programming with the 3-SDU utility. In addition, it supports panel diagnostics and live status monitoring over the network.
Furthermore, the 3X-ETH2 adds email-message reporting on top of the 3X-ETH1 feature set. As a result, a single panel can send event notifications to designated recipients without a dialer or a third-party gateway. The later 3X-ETH3 builds on this by adding SMS text-message delivery through email-to-text gateways.

What This Card Is Not
First, the 3X-ETH2 is not a network controller. Therefore, it does not replace the 3X-NET, 3X-NET8, 3X-FIB, or 3X-FIB8 cards that carry panel-to-panel network data. Instead, it provides an Ethernet path for programming, diagnostics, status monitoring, and email reporting.
