The Edwards 6830-6A-4 is a permanent remote telephone handset station for emergency voice communication. First, it serves as a firefighter or warden phone in voice/alarm systems. Then it links each floor to the central fire command station. As a result, responders coordinate during an evacuation.
Where the Edwards 6830-6A-4 fits
High-rise buildings, hospitals, and large campuses use these stations. Specifically, codes often require telephone coverage on each floor. In addition, the permanent handset stays connected and ready for use. Therefore, the station supports dependable two-way emergency communication.
Four-state operation
The “4” suffix designates four-state supervision. Specifically, the station reports normal, alarm, trouble, and supervisory conditions. As a result, the panel continuously monitors station integrity. However, four-state operation requires one CC1 control module per station.
Construction
A red “PUSH-TO-TALK” button activates the handset. Also, a 5-foot armored cable resists tampering and abuse. Furthermore, the rugged housing withstands demanding installation environments.
