The System Sensor ELR-47K is a 47,000-ohm end-of-line resistor (EOLR). It supervises a conventional alarm zone wired from a fire alarm panel or interface module.
First, the resistor terminates the far end of the supervised circuit. Then, the panel reads the loop’s quiescent current through the resistor. As a result, any open or short on the zone wiring shows up as a trouble or alarm condition. Therefore, the EOLR is essential to the supervision required by NFPA 72 for conventional initiating circuits.
Typical Application
This ELR-47K is the standard end-of-line device for System Sensor input modules. For example, it ships as the matched EOLR for the MMF-302-6 six-zone interface module. Also, the same value is used on many conventional zone inputs across compatible panels.
Key Features
- 47,000-ohm (47K) resistance value
- Provides end-of-line supervision for conventional initiating device circuits
- Matched EOLR for System Sensor MMF-302-6 six-zone interface module
- Compact, lightweight component (approximately 0.1 lb)
Why the Right EOLR Value Matters
Panels and modules check the EOLR by measuring loop resistance. However, an incorrect value (such as 3.9K or 5.1K from another system) will trigger a trouble condition. Therefore, always confirm the panel or module specifies a 47K EOLR before installation.
