The Siemens FDBZ492-PR is a self-contained air-duct smoke detection housing. It includes an onboard power supply and relay. The housing mounts directly to HVAC ductwork. As a result, it monitors supply and return air for smoke.
A sampling tube draws air from the duct across a compatible smoke detector. Then the sampled air returns to the duct through an outlet tube. Therefore, the housing detects products of combustion moving through the air stream.
Siemens FDBZ492-PR Power and Relay
The FDBZ492-PR accepts several input sources. Specifically, it operates from 24 VAC, 24 VDC, 115 VAC, or 230 VAC. In addition, it provides a Form C dry-contact relay. This relay is rated 2.5 A at 125 VAC / 24 VDC. As a result, it can trigger HVAC shutdown or other control functions.
