The Hochiki SOE-24V is a conventional photoelectric smoke detector for 24V two-wire initiating circuits. It carries Hochiki part number 0200-11280. The photoelectric chamber catches smoldering fire smoke before flames develop.
This is a 2-wire conventional detector. Specifically, it draws standby power and signals alarm over the same pair of wires from the panel. As a result, it works with conventional zone-style fire alarm control panels on a standard initiating circuit.
How the Hochiki SOE-24V Detects Smoke
First, smoke enters the optical chamber through the screened openings. Then, smoke particles scatter light from an internal LED toward a photo receiver. Therefore, the receiver registers the scattered light and the head switches into alarm. Furthermore, photoelectric chambers respond well to smoldering, low-energy fires that smoke heavily before flaming.

Important Compatibility Notes
This is a CONVENTIONAL detector, not addressable. Therefore, it cannot be used on addressable SLC loops without a conventional zone module. For example, Hochiki’s own addressable platforms use different head families (ALG-V, ACA-V, etc.). Also, the SOE family uses Hochiki SOE-compatible bases — confirm your existing base style and footprint before ordering. Our team can help match the right head and base combination.
Important Note About Listings
Smoke detectors are evaluated under UL 268. Therefore, the listing context covers the head and a specified base together. However, confirm the listing marking on the unit at receipt against your project’s submittal requirements, since Hochiki listing markings vary across manufacturing runs.
