The Macurco HS-B is a 24 VDC horn/strobe with a blue lens for Macurco gas-detection notification. First, it pairs with Macurco DVP-120 and DVP-120M controllers. In addition, it works with Macurco 6-Series and 12-Series detectors. Therefore, it is not a fire-alarm UL 1971 strobe.
Macurco HS-B candela settings
The strobe candela is field-selectable at 15, 30, 75, or 110 cd. Then the horn provides a high-decibel audible alert with low current draw. Also, the device mounts flush or surface to a double-gang electrical box. As a result, install is straightforward on standard rough-in.
Use cases
Use the HS-B inside chiller rooms, boiler rooms, parking garages, and confined indoor spaces. Specifically, deploy it where a Macurco panel must drive blue-lens notification for gas events. However, do not wire it as a fire-alarm NAC device. Furthermore, do not substitute it for a UL 1971 strobe on a fire system.
