The Kidde D16L-VS is a 16-zone driver/annunciator module that displays alarm and trouble at the panel. First, it provides two LEDs per zone — typically one alarm and one trouble. Then, the panel drives the LEDs through a serial annunciator interface.
In addition, the D16L-VS is the local annunciator complement to remote graphics. As a result, technicians can read system state at a glance. Specifically, the module is used inside or alongside Kidde / Vigilant control panels.
How the Kidde D16L-VS Works
The D16L-VS connects to the panel’s annunciator data bus. Then, the panel programming maps each LED pair to a system point or zone. Finally, alarms, troubles, and supervisories light the assigned LEDs.
Furthermore, the LED labels are field-customizable through the panel’s annunciator programming. As a result, a single hardware module can serve many different building layouts.
