The Kidde GSA-IO is a universal input/output module for the Signature addressable loop. First, it provides one supervised input and one dry-contact output. Then, the loop controller addresses each side as a separate point.
In addition, the GSA-IO is the workhorse for tying auxiliary equipment to the panel. As a result, one module can monitor a contact and drive a relay-controlled load. Specifically, the personality code at commissioning sets each side’s function.
How the Kidde GSA-IO Works
The GSA-IO plugs into a Signature mounting base. Then, the input is wired with end-of-line supervision. Finally, the output drives a Form-C dry contact for the controlled device.
Furthermore, the input and output are independently configurable. As a result, the same module can serve a supervisory input plus an HVAC shutdown output, for example. Also, both circuits are supervised end-to-end.
