The Kidde VM-SLC Signaling Line Circuit card adds one Signature loop to a VM Series fire alarm control panel. As a result, the panel’s device capacity expands without rewiring the system.

Specifically, the VM-SLC plugs into a slot on the VM-CPU main board. Then, the new loop supports up to 125 detectors plus 125 modules. Furthermore, the card provides resettable 24 VDC for powering conventional two-wire smoke detectors through V-Series modules.

Install one VM-SLC for a second SLC on the CPU. In addition, install another VM-SLC on a VM-SLCXB expander to reach the panel’s four-loop maximum.

Selecting the Right SLC Card

For circuits with up to 90 isolators, use the standard VM-SLC. However, for circuits with more than 90 isolators, choose the VM-SLC-HC high-capacity variant. Furthermore, GSA-series module bases all operate on the same 24 VDC smoke-power feed.
