The Edwards LKW-1 is a FIRE-marked wall-orientation lens kit for Integrity 757-Series and Genesis G1-Series speaker-strobes. First, it provides the standard red FIRE lettering required by most US fire alarm codes. As a result, the marking identifies the strobe as a fire alarm notification appliance per NFPA 72.
The Edwards LKW-1 ships as the standard lens with every new 757-Series strobe. Therefore, sold as a separate part number, the LKW-1 serves as a replacement for damaged lens kits or as a conversion kit for non-marked appliances. Also, the lens kit is a passive plastic component with no electrical interface.
Application
Use the LKW-1 to ensure consistent FIRE marking across the building. For example, replace a faded or damaged lens to keep occupant signage clear. Furthermore, the LKW-1 lens letters are oriented for wall-mounted appliances. In contrast, the LKC-1 has the same FIRE marking with ceiling-orientation lettering – order LKC-1 for ceiling-mounted strobes.
Marking Family
The LKW Series includes nine standard markings. Specifically: LKW-1 FIRE, LKW-2 FEU (French), LKW-3 FIRE/FEU bilingual, LKW-4 SMOKE, LKW-5 HALON, LKW-6 CO2, LKW-7 EMERGENCY, LKW-8 ALARM, LKW-9 FUEGO (Spanish). In addition, the LKW-10 provides ALERT marking for mass notification. As a result, the Integrity family supports a wide range of code regimes through lens-only changes.
Compatibility
The Edwards LKW-1 fits the 757-Series Integrity speaker-strobes (757-5A, 757-7A, 757-3A, 757-4A, 757-8A) in both 25 V and 70 V variants. Also, the same lens frame design fits Genesis-compatible strobes. Therefore, the lens kit is a common part across multiple Edwards strobe families.
Installation
Installation requires no tools. Specifically, remove the existing lens, slide the LKW-1 in place, and snap the cover closed. Then the new FIRE marking is visible from across the room. Furthermore, no rewiring, no panel reprogramming, and no strobe-output adjustment is needed. Finally, the lens swap takes seconds per appliance.
