The Notifier FCM-1-REL is an addressable releasing control module with FlashScan technology. It is the releasing-circuit variant of the standard FCM-1 control module.
What the Notifier FCM-1-REL Does
First, the module connects to the panel SLC as a single addressable point. Then, the panel can command the module’s output circuit to energize a releasing device. As a result, the FCM-1-REL is the typical interface point for triggering pre-action, deluge, or clean-agent suppression in a Notifier system.
In addition, the module supervises its output circuit for opens and shorts. Therefore, the panel reports trouble conditions on the releasing wiring before they cause a failure-to-release.
Platform Compatibility
The FCM-1-REL is built for Notifier intelligent panels that use the FlashScan SLC protocol. However, releasing circuits carry stricter installation requirements than standard NACs — always confirm compatibility against the panel’s releasing-services listing and the current Notifier FCM-1-REL datasheet.
Application Notes
Common applications include water-based pre-action and deluge systems, clean-agent rooms (data centers, archives, telecommunications), and dry-pipe suppression triggering. Also, the releasing function is a life-safety-critical function — design and commission per NFPA 72 and the suppression system’s listed installation manual.
