The Potter Electric Signal PAD300-SB is a 6.4-inch addressable sounder base with an integrated sounder module. First, the base accepts any PAD300-series sensor head. Then, it produces high-volume audible signaling at the detector location. As a result, integrators get notification right at the device without a separate appliance.

The PAD300-SB does not consume an extra SLC address. Instead, the sounder takes a sub-address from the attached PAD300 detector. Therefore, integrators save loop addresses while keeping zone-level audibility.
The sounder is fully programmable through the host control panel. Specifically, it can sound as a single station, a zone, or all-call. In addition, the base supports multiple tone patterns. Available patterns include Constant, ANSI Temp 3, March Code, Double Time, and ANSI Temp 4.
Furthermore, the sounder is independent of the sensor head. As a result, the head can be removed for service without disabling the audible signal.

Mounting and locking
The PAD300-SB mounts directly on the electrical box. Specifically, it supports single gang, 3-1/2″ octagon, double gang, 4″ octagon, and 4″ square. In addition, it accepts metric 50mm, 60mm, and 70mm c/c boxes. Furthermore, the base includes a field-removable locking feature for the detector. Therefore, the base suits both standard ceiling installs and tamper-sensitive areas.
Note: For new PAD300 detector installs, the PAD300-SB is the current-generation sounder base. PAD100-SB is the prior-generation alternative for PAD100 detector systems.
