The Protectowire (ZB-4-QC-MP) is a non-metallic, moisture-proof zone box for linear heat detectors. Specifically, it houses termination wiring between the detector and copper feed cable. Moreover, it carries a NEMA 6P (IP67) environmental rating. As a result, it protects connections in wet or washdown areas.

First, the box measures 4 inches high by 4 inches wide by 2 inches deep. In addition, it uses PWSC compression terminals for the detector connection. It operates from -22°F to +212°F (-30°C to +100°C). Also, the cover uses #10-32 captivated stainless steel screws.
Compatibility and installation
The ZB-4-QC-MP works with PHSC and PLR linear heat detectors. However, it is not recommended for outdoor use in direct sunlight. Then connect copper feed conductors in the #18 to #14 AWG range. Therefore, order SR-502 strain relief connectors separately, since boxes ship without them. Finally, install the box no more than six feet above the floor.
