The System Sensor REL-2.2K is a 2.2 kilohm end-of-line resistor for fire alarm circuits. It installs at the far end of a conventional supervised circuit. As a result, the control panel can monitor that circuit for faults.
End-of-line resistors are essential for circuit supervision. Specifically, the panel watches for the resistor’s known load. Therefore, it can detect an open or short before an emergency.
How the System Sensor REL-2.2K Works
The resistor terminates a notification appliance circuit or initiating device circuit. In addition, it maintains a steady supervisory current through the wiring. If the wiring breaks, the panel sees the change and signals a trouble condition.
Always confirm the correct end-of-line value for your panel and circuit. Many conventional panels specify a 2.2 kilohm resistor. However, requirements vary by manufacturer, so check the panel documentation first.
