The Potter Electric Signal RTA is the Remote Test Annunciator. Specifically, it serves the EVD-1, EVD-2, and VSA vault sound alarm systems. First, the RTA mounts at a remote location near the burglar alarm control panel. Then, the technician can test the host system without entering the safe or vault area. As a result, the RTA streamlines periodic functional verification of high-security primary protection systems.
Potter Electric Signal RTA function
The RTA provides a normally open test switch and dedicated LED indicators. Specifically, the LEDs annunciate alarm condition and tamper condition for the host EVD or VSA controller. In addition, the test switch initiates the host system’s self-test sequence. Therefore, the RTA serves as the operator interface for routine system inspection.
Compatibility
The RTA pairs with the Potter EVD-1 and EVD-2 Electronic Vibration Detector systems. Furthermore, the RTA ships standard with the VSA-1K and VSA-2K vault sound alarm kits. Specifically, one RTA is included in each VSA kit by default. Also, the RTA is available as a standalone accessory under stock number 2000073.
Application context
The EVD and VSA platforms are security/burglar systems. Specifically, they are listed by UL for the primary protection of safes, vaults, ATMs, and mercantile spaces. As a result, the RTA is wired to UL-listed burglar control units, not to fire alarm panels. However, the host EVD or VSA controller supplies all RTA power and supervision through a UL-listed burglar control unit.
