The Secutron MRI-4021 is an intelligent addressable photoelectric and heat multi-sensor detector. The non-isolated variant connects to the SLC line through any MRI-4000 base. As a result, the detector reports analog values to the panel for early fire warning.
First, the MRI-4021 uses an advanced light-scattering chamber for photoelectric smoke sensing. In addition, an integrated thermal element adds heat detection in two modes. Therefore, the device handles smoldering and flaming fires equally well.
How the Secutron MRI-4021 Detects Fire
Specifically, the detector offers two heat-detection settings. The first is fixed 135 °F (57 °C). The second adds a rate-of-rise stage to the 135 °F setpoint. Furthermore, the panel selects between settings during configuration, so no jumpers or DIP switches are needed.
Software algorithms tell apart real alarms from nuisance triggers. As a result, dust, insects, and debris are far less likely to drive false alarms. In addition, the FACU can adjust sensitivity per device.
Status Indication and Addressing
The MRI-4021 carries dual LEDs with 360° visibility. Distinct colours indicate alarm or trouble. Also, a remote output lets a remote LED follow the device. Furthermore, the address is set with the MIX-4090 hand-held programming tool.
Need short-circuit protection on the loop? Then choose the MRI-4021-ISO sibling instead. Specifically, the ISO version adds a bi-directional short-circuit isolator inside the detector.
