The Siemens ZR-HMC-R is a red, wall-mount strobe in the Siemens Series Z line. Specifically, it is a high multi-candela visual notification appliance. As a result, it delivers bright, code-compliant strobe output for fire alarm systems.
Siemens ZR-HMC-R candela settings
The ZR-HMC-R offers field-selectable candela output. First, installers can choose 15, 30, 75, or 110 candela. In addition, the high range adds 135 and 185 candela settings. Therefore, one device covers small rooms through large open areas.
Each candela rating reflects minimum effective intensity under UL Standard 1971. The ZR-HMC-R is a visual-only appliance. However, it pairs with Series Z horns on the same circuit when audible signaling is also required.
Series Z snap-on base
The ZR-HMC-R shares the common Series Z snap-on base. As a result, the base can be pre-wired and tested before the appliance is installed. Then the strobe snaps onto the base once finish work is complete.
