The Edwards SIGA-270L is a single-action manual fire alarm pull station from the Signature Series 270 family. It is identical to the SIGA-270 mechanically and electrically, except the front plate is marked “LOCAL ALARM” instead of “FIRE ALARM”. Use the SIGA-270L where the pull station signals a local annunciator or evacuation zone rather than a general building alarm.
How the Edwards SIGA-270L works
First, a single pull on the handle closes a normally-open dry-contact switch. Then the integrated Signature input module supervises the switch and reports the alarm to the loop controller. As a result, the station latches in alarm until reset with the supplied key.
Construction
The body is cast zinc with a steel backplate. The station finish is red with white lettering. In addition, a replaceable glass rod (USA P/N 276-GLR, 20-pack; Canada P/N 27165, 12-pack) breaks on activation to provide tactile feedback. The personality code is factory-set to 1 for alarm-latching operation.
Electrical specifications
Operating voltage range: 15.2 to 19.95 VDC. Standby current: 250 µA. Activated current: 400 µA. Operating temperature 32 to 120 °F (0 to 49 °C); humidity 0 to 93% RH; storage -4 to 140 °F.
Mounting
The SIGA-270L mounts to a North American 2-1/2 in deep 1-gang box, or a standard 4 in square box 1-1/2 in deep with a 1-gang cover. For surface mount, order accessory box 27193-10 (cream) or 27193-11 (red) separately. Terminal blocks accept 12, 14, 16, or 18 AWG; sizes 16 and 18 preferred.
Compatibility
Requires a Signature Loop Controller. Compatible with EST3 and EST3x panels, and with iO64 and iO500 panels using Signature Series devices.
