The Edwards SIGA-LED Remote LED Alarm Indicator is a polarized Signature Series accessory. It provides remote visual indication when a Signature detector enters an alarm condition. A clear lens with a red light-emitting diode pulses on and off during an alarm.
Edwards SIGA-LED compatibility — base restrictions
First, the SIGA-LED can ONLY be used with the SIGA-SB or SIGA-SB4 Standard Detector Base. It is NOT compatible with the SIGA-RB, SIGA-RB4, SIGA-IB, or SIGA-IB4 bases. Furthermore, the device is NOT compatible with 24 VDC circuits. In addition, the SIGA-LED is not intended for EN54 applications per the current Edwards ordering information.
Visual specifications
LED type: clear lens with red light-emitting diode. Luminous intensity: 65 mcd. Operation: pulses on alarm condition. The LED has a 180-degree range of visibility. However, best visibility is achieved in direct-viewing applications.
Wiring and electrical
Wiring polarity must be observed at the terminal block on the base. Maximum resistance per wire is 10 ohms. Furthermore, the SIGA-LED is not intended as an evacuation signal for life-safety situations. It also will NOT operate if the detector it is connected to has no power.
Mounting
The SIGA-LED mounts in a North American 1-gang box or a standard 4 inch square box 1-1/2 in (38 mm) deep with a 1-gang cover. For duct applications, use the SIGA-DH Duct Detector Mounting Plate. Construction is high-impact engineering polymer in white. Shipping weight is 3.2 oz (90 g).
Environmental ratings
Operating temperature: 32 to 120°F (0 to 49°C). Operating humidity: 0 to 93% RH. Storage temperature: -4 to 140°F (-20 to 60°C). Avoid installation in areas of direct sunlight or where light intensity may reduce visibility.
