Edwards (SIGI-271) Sigi-271 fire alarm call points are part of edwards’s signature series system. these integrated assemblies feature the familiar kac installers’ series call point packaged with signature series intelligent addressable/analogue interface electronics.

The Edwards SIGI-271 is a Signature Series intelligent break-glass manual pull station. Specifically, it packages the familiar KAC 271 break-glass call point with Signature Series addressable interface electronics in one assembly.

First, glass-break activation triggers the integrated input module. Then the module sends an alarm signal directly to the Signature Loop Controller. As a result, the panel latches the alarm condition at the station and reports the assigned device address.

Installation notes

The 271 ships from the factory as a complete assembly with one input module attached. Furthermore, the electronic module contains no user-serviceable parts and should not be disassembled. Before wiring, the installer should verify that all field wiring is free of opens, shorts, and ground faults. Strip 1/4 in (about 6 mm) from each wire end; exposing more wire can cause ground faults, while exposing less may create a faulty connection. Finally, address the station via the loop programming software (no DIP switches).
