The Simplex 2080-9060 is a surface-mount maintenance switch with a disconnect indicator lamp. It disables a releasing appliance circuit during service. Specifically, it lets a technician safely take a suppression output offline.
How the Simplex 2080-9060 works
First, the key-operated switch holds its position when set. In addition, the key removes only in the normal (enabled) position. As a result, a circuit cannot be left disabled by accident.
In the disabled position, the switch opens the connection to the output circuit. Then it places a 16.2 kΩ resistor across the input to maintain supervision. Therefore, the panel still monitors the circuit while the output is isolated.
Indicator and construction
An integral indicator lamp uses an incandescent bulb behind a red lens. Also, a separate 24 VDC source powers the lamp. Consequently, it confirms at a glance that the circuit is disabled. The switch ships with a stainless-steel, double-gang faceplate and a red surface-mount box. Its catalog number is 0637664.
