The Simplex 4090-9116 is the addressable IDNet communications isolator for short-circuit protection on addressable loops. First, it isolates a fault automatically when a short circuit occurs. In addition, the unit reports the isolation state to the host panel. Therefore, the 4090-9116 keeps the rest of the loop online during a single-point failure.
Dual-Port, Bi-Directional Isolation
The 4090-9116 has two communication ports. Specifically, either port can serve as the input or the output. As a result, the device drops into the loop without strict polarity wiring. Furthermore, the isolation activates automatically on a detected short circuit. Operators can also trigger isolation manually from the panel for troubleshooting.
Panel Compatibility
The isolator works with Simplex 4007ES, 4008, 4010ES, 4100ES, and 4100U panels. However, the supported channels include IDNet, IDNet+, IDNet 1+, IDNet 2, and IDNet 2+2 outputs. Also, the device is line-powered from the addressable loop itself.
Operating Environment
The 4090-9116 operates between 32 °F (0 °C) and 120 °F (49 °C). Then, relative humidity may reach 93% non-condensing at 90 °F (32 °C). Therefore, the isolator suits typical indoor commercial environments without special enclosures.
