The STI EPSPBKT swing panel brackets are the bracket kit that lets a back panel hinge out of an STI EnviroArmour polycarbonate enclosure for full service access. First, install the four brackets on the enclosure’s interior. Then mount the back panel to the swing hinges. As a result, technicians swing the panel forward to reach the enclosure’s rear wall, the back of the mounted equipment, and any field-wiring terminations.
What EPSPBKT is built for
STI EnviroArmour polycarbonate enclosures (EP-prefix) protect fire alarm control panels and remote annunciators from impact, UV, dust, and water intrusion. However, when the rear of the mounted panel needs service access, a fixed back panel forces removal of the entire enclosure contents. Therefore, the EPSPBKT replaces fixed mounting with hinged mounting so the back panel pivots clear of the rear wall.
Verified STI EPSPBKT specifications
- Type: Swing (hinged) panel mounting bracket kit
- Enclosure family: STI EnviroArmour POLYCARBONATE series (BPP / BPA back panels in polycarbonate enclosures)
- Mounting style: Hinged — the back panel pivots forward for rear-side access
- Quantity per kit: 4 brackets (covers one back panel)
- Multi-panel installations: One bracket kit required per panel
- Use case: Multiple back panels in one enclosure, or single panels where rear access is required
- Pairing: Combine with a corner post kit to vary panel height across multiple panels
Swing vs. stationary — picking the right bracket
The EPSPBKT swings the back panel out of the way for rear-side service. However, when the panel mounts in a fixed position and rear access is not required, STI’s stationary alternative is the correct lower-cost choice. Furthermore, for STI’s FIBERGLASS enclosures (BPF back panels), the equivalent swing-panel bracket is the EFSPBKT — not the EPSPBKT — and the stationary equivalent is the EFAPBKT.
Application context
Specify the EPSPBKT in installations where a polycarbonate enclosure houses field-wiring terminations behind the back panel. In addition, specify it when stacking two or more back panels at varied heights and rear access is required. As a result, the EPSPBKT is most often ordered alongside one or more BPP- or BPA-series back panels and a corner post kit.
